Cicada had one parental figure, Johnathan Bertram Sr.
He was a scientist who began work on the project that would bring Cicada to life, it was from 1946-1955 that the project would go on, he was tasked to teach and help Cicada to prepare her for the Vietnam War that was going on which ended in success and sorrow.
Cicada grew to love her father figure to the point where in 2006, at the age of 76, a man who burnt his home/lab down which killed him after being tasked to by an unknown payer.
It was what taught Cicada about the real meaning of grief, sorrow, and even anger, she began a search and eventually found the man. Cornering him in a abandoned house and pushing him out the window, she outran the police and realized she's alone now. The only thing left was her suit and a phone number to her adopted brother.
To this day, she regrets her killing actions along with her last moments with her father being that she'll see him later, she didn't know but what if she did? she wasn't there.
With his memory of him always believing she can do more, she applied herself to protect others at all cost even if it means the risk of her own.
